Calving has passed and now the priority is making the right management decisions to get the most out of this season. This day will cover:

Lameness. From top to bottom

Lameness is a complex problem with many contributing factors. Neil Chesterton, veterinarian and lameness guru, will explain how to tackle lameness by identifying and managing the risks, which include infrastructure and stock management aspects.

His lively presentation looks at the issue from multiple angles, and even if you have years of farming experience you will gain new ideas that are simple to action on your own farm.

Out weed! How to take charge

How are the weeds looking on your place this spring? Have you got them under control? Are they getting worse every year? Weeds like Californian thistle, yellow bristle grass and buttercup can be a real nuisance, but we have a weed expert coming to tell you how to get rid of them!

Paul Addison, Nufarm, has a wealth of experience and practical advice. He will talk about:
• Gaining control of weeds in existing pastures.
• The key strategies to keep weeds out of new grass.
• Controlling weeds in crops, how to get the upper hand.

Free event, all welcome. Morning tea and lunch provided.
